|
Supercomputing simulations are providing larger and larger simulation results and the Analysis of these vast amounts of data starts to become a bottleneck in research but also in industrial applications. I/O is often a limiting factor during the simulation itself but especially during visualization afterwards. This is why in situ visualization is gaining more and more interest especially in petaflop-scale applications. Today, in situ visualizations are typically used to create snapshots or movies from simulations where visualization parameters are fixed during the whole simulation. In this session, we will show how this concept can be extended to support interactive visualization of these huge simulations from the desktop and even from within virtual environments. We will further show how Big Data visualization in general can benefit from immersive virtual environments and high resolution tiled displays. |
