Abstract:   From Genomics and Drug Design, to Manufacturing Design with CAD and CAM, and even managing risk of financial investments, and insurance annuities, this session will review how leading businesses today are gaining greater access to computing through the cloud. This greater access to computing power, or Utility HPC, is leading to faster discoveries, inventions, and better decisions. In this session, Jason will review recent cloud HPC implementations, and provide thoughts on future directions of Utility HPC. Case studies will represent a variety of applications, and workload sizes from 128 cores, up to runs of more than 156,000 cores. Bring your questions about technical computing on the cloud, your thinking caps, and we'll review several real examples from the past year.
