Abstract:   Autodesk's VRED technology running on HPC streamlines automotive design and marketing through the use of sophisticated visualization available on a real-time basis. CGI (computer-generated imagery) is widespread in the film industry, but VRED's advanced raytracing capabilities deliver a much higher level of interactivity and physical accuracy required for both realtime presentations and imagery productions to be credible in a design and marketing context. VRED on HPC clusters produces dynamic visualization for interactive design validation, allowing car manufacturers to make strategic launch decisions more rapidly and confidently. Offline rendering on the same HPC systems generates publicity images and full motion videos showing precise illumination and motion within real environments to promote successful market entry of new vehicles. In this presentation we show solutions combining Autodesk VRED and accessible HPC servers from Fujitsu to transform the way companies from small studios to global organisations incorporate design visualisation into their business operations.
