Andrew Jones

Vice-President HPC Consulting & Services, Numerical Algorithms Group

Andrew was originally a researcher using HPC and developing related software in government and industrial settings. Andrew later became involved in planning and delivering HPC services, eventually as part of the management team at the University of Manchester supercomputing centre and with roles in the UK’s national supercomputing services. Andrew has also undertaken independent reviews of HPC services, was involved in the early technical management of PRACE, and was a theme co-chair in the European Exascale Software Initiative (EESI). Andrew is now Vice-President HPC Consulting and Services at the Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG), which provides supercomputing application performance services and impartial HPC strategy/technology consulting and HPC training to customers around the world, including industry and governments. Andrew is a frequent commentator on issues of concern to the HPC community, including skills development, broadening usage, industry use of HPC, software and technology trends, etc. Andrew can be found on twitter at @hpcnotes.
