Mr. Toshiyuki Shimizu is a Vice president in the System Development Division I of the Next Generation Technical Computing Unit at Fujitsu Limited. His work experience in Fujitsu starts from research and development of a massively parallel supercomputer system, known as AP1000, at Fujitsu laboratories. Since then, he developed scalar parallel supercomputers, the large SMP enterprise servers, and also including x86 cluster systems. His research interest is an interconnect architecture and he conducted the development of the Tofu interconnect of the K computer. Recently, he led the development of Fujitsu petascale supercomputer PRIMEHPC FX10, is leading the development of its successor, and working on the architecture and technologies for the exascale system. He received his Master of computer science degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1988.
