Dr. Ferdinand Jamitzky

Staff Member of the Application Support Team for SuperMUC, Leibniz Supercomputing Center

Ferdinand Jamitzky is staff member of the Application Support Team for SuperMUC at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Garching (LRZ). He studied physics at the TU München and obtained his Ph.D. at the Ludwigs-Maximilians-University Munich in the field of plasma physics. Before working at LRZ he was working for 20 years at the Max-Planck-Institute for extraterrestrial physics in Garching. He is author and co-author of papers in the field of plasma physics, nano-science, biophysics, theory of dynamical systems and image processing. At the LRZ he is responsible for developing and porting applications to the Petaflops System SuperMUC, including some using R.
