Prof. Dr. Mark Parsons

Executive Director, Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre

Mark Parsons is a Professor of High Performance Computing (HPC) and Executive Director of the Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre (EPCC). He is also Associate Dean for e-Research at the University of Edinburgh, and is and is Project Coordinator of the FORTISSIMO and CRESTA Projects. He has many interests in distributed computing, ranging from its industrial use to the use of software co-design for the Exascale challenge. His research interests include highly distributed data-intensive computing and novel hardware design. Parsons has a PhD in Particle Physics from the University of Edinburgh.
